Family Reunion Catering in Breckenridge

Feeding the whole family in Summit County

Family reunion catering in Breckenridge from The Mobile Chef brings dinner to the house where your family is staying. You have gathered three generations under one roof at 9,600 feet, and the last thing anyone wants is to cook for twenty or split the group across a restaurant. We plan one menu around everyone, cook it in your rental kitchen, serve it at your table and clean up afterward, for one evening or several.

Why reunions work better at the rental

Getting a big family out the door, into cars and seated together in peak season is a project of its own. Dinner at the rental takes that project away.

  • Everyone stays put. Grandparents don’t have to manage icy steps in the dark, and nobody has to drive home after a long dinner.
  • Kids can come and go. Children can leave the table to play and come back for dessert while the adults linger as long as they like.
  • One table, one conversation. The point of a reunion is being together. A rental dining room, or two tables pushed end to end, keeps the whole family in one room.
  • Your own drinks. You pour your own wine and cocktails, at considerable savings over a restaurant bill.

Family reunion private chef service in Colorado: how it works

Our family reunion private chef service in Colorado follows the same pattern we have used across Summit County since 1998, in Breckenridge, Frisco, Copper Mountain and Keystone.

  1. You call or email with the basics. Your dates, the address of the rental, how many adults and how many children, and any allergies or dietary needs.
  2. We plan the menu with you. Every menu includes a starter, soup or salad, entrée and dessert. You choose the dishes and have the final word.
  3. We shop, cook and serve. The chef arrives with the groceries, cooks in your kitchen and serves your family at the table.
  4. We clean up. The kitchen is left as we found it, and your family goes back to the fire or the hot tub.

If the reunion needs more than dinner, such as décor, a DJ for a milestone birthday, or a venue for a larger gathering, our event planning service can coordinate the food and the other vendors so the organizer is not doing it alone.

A menu that works for every generation

The hardest part of feeding a big family is that nobody eats the same way. We plan for that from the first conversation. Gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and food allergies are built into the menu rather than handled with a separate plate at the last minute.

A family dinner from our menus might look like this:

  • Starter: brie cheese and fruit platter, or hummus with vegetable crudité
  • Salad: dinner salad with gorgonzola and walnuts, or Greek salad with feta and olives
  • Entrée: grilled pork tenderloin au jus with roasted red potatoes and a sautéed vegetable medley, or chicken piccata
  • Dessert: fruit tart or tiramisu

Family menus are one of the cuisines we cook, alongside contemporary, Mediterranean and Thai, so you can keep the kids’ choices simple and still give the adults something to talk about. For more on planning a big table, see our guide to group dinner ideas for a Breckenridge ski house, and for quantities, how much food to plan per person.

One night or the whole reunion

Some families book a single dinner for the big night of the reunion. Others would rather nobody cooks for the whole stay.

What family reunion catering in Breckenridge costs

Menu pricing begins at $79 per person, based on menu, group size and style of service. Children under 12 are half price, which makes a real difference at a reunion. For groups of 6 or more, a server’s fee may apply and a gratuity may be added. Pricing includes food costs, meal preparation, serving, sales tax and clean-up, so there is no separate grocery bill. The full menus are on our menus and pricing page.

Questions we hear often

Can you cook for a large family in a vacation rental?

Yes. We cook in your rental kitchen and serve at your table. Our specialism is smaller groups, so tell us your headcount when you call and we will plan the service around it.

How do you handle allergies and picky eaters?

Tell us about every allergy and dietary need when you book. Gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and food allergies are planned into the menu, and kids can have simpler choices on the same night.

Are children charged the full price?

No. Children under 12 are half price.

Can you cook for the whole reunion, not just one night?

Yes. Multi-day service covers dinners across your stay, and breakfast and lunch are available to clients in the Breckenridge and Frisco areas who book it.
